Is it cheaper to import or buy a car in Kenya?
It depends on the car’s value. For low valued mass imported vehicles of below KSH 2 million it is normally cheaper to buy locally in Kenya. However, for high end cars like SUVs and pickups normally priced beyond KSh. 2.5m it can be cheaper to import. There is also the aspect of “foreign used car” which may mean you could get a car in better condition due to better road conditions, rigorous testing and maintenance.
